Getting into the social networking thing

Hey all,

So I have finally jumped on the bandwagon of creating social networking sites for the blog. I know, I know.. finally. It’s been a long time coming but I wanted to wait to see how well the blog did and I sort of got pushed into it.

Previously, I was just linking my blog to my personal Facebook profile so everything would just automatically post. This way my friends could see what I was doing and could follow if they wanted. Then, a few weeks ago, I received a notification that Facebook is no longer allowing third party sources to post to profiles. They would only allow it to pages. That settled it.

So after some hemming and hawing and looking at what everyone else was doing, I bit the bullet last night and created a Facebook page, @BookAdmirerblog. The Facebook icon on the top of my page, on the opposite side of my menu, will bring you to the page, if you wish to follow.

I noticed that many of you do Twitter. Now, I have never been much of a Twitter fan. I mean, what can Twitter do that I can’t already do on Facebook? But I realize that is the wrong way to look at it. I know that Twitter has its benefits and its becoming more and more appealing. I will probably be making a Twitter account in a few days. but I will let you know when it’s official.

In the meantime, does anyone have any advice about how they work their social networking sites? What works, what doesn’t? I’m all ears.

Yours truly,

Book Admirer
